The assaulting cop, Deputy Paul Schene, was fired and arrested for misdemeanor assault. He had two trials, both of which ended in a mistrial, thanks to the weak case presented by prosectors who are close political allies of all police officers. The King County Prosecutor's office declined to retry the case. The entire prosecution was a make-believe facade to give the illusion that justice was being pursued. The victim received a $125,000 settlement from the county government.
